The Experience
What is Horse-Centered Wellness?
Horse-Centered Wellness pairs Veterans, First Responders, and Healthcare Heroes with wellness horses in a calm, structured setting. Activities take place on the ground, with guidance and support throughout.
Horses respond to body language and energy in the moment. Simple activities like observing, grooming, and walking alongside them invite participants to practice presence, build trust, and notice their own responses.
This is a non-clinical wellness program. No referral, diagnosis, or prior horse experience is needed.
WHY HORSES HELP HEROES HEAL
Horses are attentive to movement, tone, and emotional state. In guided ground-based activities, participants can slow down, notice what is happening in the moment, and practice calm, trust, and connection.
Research into equine-assisted programs suggests potential benefits for wellbeing and emotional awareness. The experience is personal, and results vary; the program complements rather than replaces clinical care.
